Varayna Cordell, LPC

My path started with a simple introductory psychology course in undergrad. Unsure of a major, I decided to try the course and found that I loved working with people and learning ways to improve our health. Over the years, I’ve grown to love this career. I honestly count it a privilege to partner with folks looking to make a change. I love being a part of helping people form richer lives, achieve personal goals, and become who they were meant to be.

I completed an undergraduate degree in Psychology at Spelman College in Atlanta, GA and earned a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology at Northeastern University in Boston, MA. I have worked in many facets of mental health including hospitals and state agencies, as well as with individuals and groups. I mainly work from a Cognitive Behavioral framework which basically means that I believe if you change your thoughts, you change your life. That is, often, easier said than done but I work with clients to begin taking the steps to make those changes.

When I’m not with clients, you can find me taking a nature hike, practicing my dance moves, or baking something fun to eat.
