Black Therapist Peer Consultation group


When you join the group, you will gain access to the meeting information and will receive reminder emails. Commitment to attend most meetings each month is requested to join to ensure a cohesive, supportive group environment. All meetings will be held online via Google Meet.

Purpose and Scope

  • This peer consultation group is established for the professional development and support of licensed therapists.

  • The group provides a forum for case consultation, professional guidance, and collegial support.

  • No formal supervision is provided for nor liability assumed for a member’s clients/patients.

Confidentiality

  • All client information shared during consultations must be anonymized and de-identified.

  • All discussions within the group are strictly confidential and may not be disclosed outside the group.

  • Members agree not to share identifying information about other members' clients or practices.

Professional Responsibility

  • Each member remains solely responsible for their clinical decisions and practice.

  • Consultation feedback is offered as professional opinion, not directive instruction.

  • Members maintain their own malpractice insurance and professional licensing requirements.

  • The group does not assume liability for individual members' professional actions.

Group Structure

  • Meetings will be held every third Friday from 12p - 1:30p.

  • Members are requested to notify ahead of time if a case is to be presented as a means to facilitate effective time management.

Membership Fees

  • Access to the group is included in the Black Therapist Connect monthly membership fee of $29.99 due on the first of each month or can be joined independently for $24.99 monthly.

  • Payment is accepted via debit or credit card.

  • Fees are non-refundable for missed sessions.

  • Members with outstanding payments exceeding sixty days may have their membership suspended.

Membership

  • Members may voluntarily withdraw at any time.

  • Membership may be reconsidered if a member consistently violates membership terms.

Documentation

  • No formal records of case discussions will be maintained.

  • Members may take personal notes but must ensure client confidentiality

Ethical Standards

  • All members agree to adhere to their respective professional ethical codes.

  • Ethical dilemmas arising in the group will be addressed openly and resolved collectively.

  • Members commit to practicing within their scope of competence.

Amendment Process

  • These terms may be amended by consensus of the group.

  • Terms will be reviewed annually or as needed.
